This sunset margarita is the perfect drink to wow family and friends thanks to its unique grilled orange slices and agave base. It pairs perfectly with back porches and the setting sun.

1 Cup | agave, plus 1 teaspoon |
1/4 Cup | water |
1 1/2 Ounce | reposado tequila |
3/4 Ounce | fresh squeezed lime juice |
As Needed | Jacobsen Salt Co. Cherrywood Smoked Salt |
1/2 Ounce | burnt orange agave |

Set Traeger temperature to 350℉ and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.

For the Burnt Orange Agave Syrup: Cut one orange in half and brush cut side with agave. Place cut side down directly on the grill grate and grill for 15 minutes or until grill marks develop.

While the orange halves are grilling, slice the other orange and brush both sides of the slices with agave. Place slices directly on the grill grate next to the halves and cook for 15 minutes or until grill marks develop.

Remove orange halves from the grill grate and let cool. After they have cooled, juice the halves and strain. Set aside.

Combine 1/4 cup water and agave in a shallow dish and mix well. Remove orange slices from the grill and place in the agave mixture, reserving a few for garnish.

Reduce the grill temperature to 180 degrees F and place the shallow dish with agave and oranges directly on the grill grate. Smoke for 40 minutes. Remove from heat and strain. Set aside.

To Mix Drink: Rim glass with Jacobsen Smoked Salt. Combine tequila, fresh lime juice, grilled orange juice, and burnt orange agave syrup in a glass. Add ice and shake well.

Strain into a rimmed glass over clean ice. Garnish with a grilled orange slice. Enjoy!
