There's no better way to do steak than a good ole' reverse sear. This NY strip steak is seasoned with our Traeger Beef Rub, smoked and seared hot for melt-in-your-mouth perfection.

When ready to cook, set Traeger temperature to 225℉ and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes. For optimal flavor, use Super Smoke if available.

While the grill is coming up to temperature, season the steaks with Traeger Beef Rub.

Place the steaks in the grill and smoke for 60 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 105 to 110℉.

Remove steaks from grill and set on the counter to rest. Increase the grill temperature to 500℉ and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.

Return steaks to grill and sear for 4 minutes. Flip steaks and add 1 tbsp butter to each steak.

Sear for another 4 minutes and check the internal temperature. The desired finish temperature is 130℉ to 135℉ for medium-rare.

Once desired temperature is reached, remove steaks from grill. Let rest 5 minutes. Enjoy!
