BBQ pitmaster Fernando Carrillo (@RagtopFernsBBQ) is all about merging his passions. As a first generation Mexican-American, he seeks out the tastes and flavours of his culture to share with his low rider car club. On any given weekend, you can find Fernando either rolling around in his low rider or at his Traeger, grilling up a storm to feed his community.

Fat side up or Fat side down? Why?

Fat side up. Personal preference. I like the bark on the fat.

Your most used, or favorite ingredient?

I don't have one in particular. But I do like brown sugar, salt and pepper, and Coca-Cola.

Strangest food you’ve eaten or cooked?

Chicatana Salsa in Oaxaca.

Hot & fast or low & slow?

Low and Slow.
